Spiral patterns appear in Celtic art from its beginning, and double spirals are frequently seen in many cultures. This is a double spiral with added Celtic flourishes.
The original design was hand-carved in wax and cast in silver. Each circle is cast in sterling silver using the lost wax process. Earring posts and clutches are of sterling silver. The detail is accented with patination using liver of sulphur, a traditional technique that darkens the metal, then the surfaces are polished to a soft, brushed shine. The diameter is just under 0.5 inch (12.7 mm).
Each set of earrings comes in a small box and includes an anti-tarnish square.
